MY NEW ART WORK

Hello Friends,

Welcome back to my new blog. Friends, as you all know, since a long time I haven't posted any of my drawings or blogs .That's  because I was with my studies. Now that my final exams are in February and I am just revising my lessons, I am a bit relaxed. Also, another new variant of same old CORONA virus is on the prowl, we have to once again adhere to the norm "stay home, stay safe". So, whenever I feel bored I draw, paint or write.

Friends, recently I recycled and rescued some old coasters by painting them using dotted mandala art. To have a look at these coasters. Check them on my Instagram account which is phalak_the_elsa (pl. click here to follow)

Apart from these hand painted coasters ,you can have a look at my other art works too ,on the same page. And, yes guys, please don't forget to like and comment on my art work.

Your encouragement helps me create new art.

Well, friends all of you must be knowing what Dotted Mandala is, however, let me explain it you in detail - Dotted Mandala paintings are done with the technique of pointillism tools. Thousands of coloured dots on canvas makes for a sight to behold. Isn't it amazing how a combination of dots make such a beauty! 😀.

A Mandala in Sanskrit means a circle "representing the universe" 🌍. Mandalas were created by Buddhists long back in the 4th century. Mandalas were used by believers in prayers, during meditation and for healing. It’s said that Buddhists used to make mandala sand paintings and used to destroy them after their purpose. They were initially seen in Tibet, India, Nepal, China, Japan, Bhutan, and Indonesia.

A few days back my father dug out these coasters which he had bought once upon a time and which were now ready to go into trash can. However, after having a look at these coasters my mind said to me , "Phalak, why don't you paint these coasters, recycle them and eventually save them". So I decided to paint these coasters using Dotted Mandala. I have acrylic colors and dotted mandala tools and so I got to the work of rescuing these coasters. It almost took 4 to 5 days to paint these coasters …And here is the output.

For all those who enjoy my blogs and keep insisting that I write, a huge THANK YOU. Your encouragement means a lot to me🙏🙏. I love writing blogs as much as you all love reading, however due to some reason or the other there is sometimes delay in publishing the blogs. But one thing is certain I will definitely write and publish blogs as and when time permits 👍.

Hope you liked this blog...stay tuned for more blogs

SURPRISE, SURPRISE......

Hello friends. So how's life amid this horrible  pandemic? Hope you are all good and doing well. Well, for the last  2-3 months I didn't post any blog because after April my new session for class 8 started and I was busy with my classes  so couldn't upload any blog.

Meanwhile I was also busy with something else 😉and this blog is about that new initiative of mine.

Friends, apart from studies, during my free time I was busy writing a comic book. I have compiled that comic book in a pdf and am sharing with you all. Hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

MY COMIC BOOK

The title of the comic book is Bujo and His Dream. It is based on a lazy boy's (Bujo) life and all about his family and adventures he went through.

Friends, my comic book will come in episodes and  I am publishing the first episode here.To know more about Bujo and his adventure or rather misadventure you will  have to read the comic book.

I had been working on this comic for  several months. I think from February 2021. Friends I am not sure whether my comic is just like a comic or not but I tried my best to write a  comic. Now I want to share the fruit of my labour with you all. l hope you  like it.

One more thing friends the story is not copied from anywhere I have written it on my own.

You must be  thinking  from where I got the idea of writing a comic? Friends,I like reading comic books such as Pinky ,Billu and Chacha Choudhary and have a collection of these comics. And  one day while I was looking at collection of my story books I found pinky (comic) and started re-reading it when an idea struck me  that I should write my own comic book.

I researched a lot and then I found an app where I could make my own comic book. So that's how began my journey of writing my  comic book.

Hope you will love my comic book.

So here we come to the end of this blog but lots of interesting blogs are coming soon.

 stay tuned

या देवी सर्वभूतेषु शक्ति रूपेण संस्थिता। नमस्तय नमस्तस्य नमस्तस्य ,नमो नमः ।।

Hello friends,

How are you ?

Hope you are fine and doing well because second wave of corona virus is now in India. From January 2021 until March everything was okay. With covid vaccination starting we thought that finally we will get rid of this pandemic but unfortunately we are facing the same challenge once again . This second  wave of covid is spreading faster across India and around globe. Lets hope to beat this wave too, like the first one by staying indoors, wearing masks and maintaining social distance.

Friends, I had planned a lot of things for Holi but covid came back and spoiled some of the fun. However somehow me and my friends played Holi for some time, though celebration was a bit low-key,yet we celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm.

From 13 April Navratras  have started. First day of navratri is celebrated as gudi padwa,in Maharashtra and Ugadi in Andhara Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. The word Ugadi is derived from the word Yugadi which is a combination of two words Yug which means age and adi which means beginning of something .According to Hindu mythology it is believed that it was on this day that Lord Brahma created Universe. Hence,Gudi padwa and Ugadi are celebrated as new year as per  Hindu calendar. So wish you all A Very Happy New Year and Happy Navratri🙂

During Navratri I do puja with my dadi and this year also I am doing the same. I am also staying home, wearing mask, keeping social distance as well as  keeping myself engaged in creative activities. As you can see at the top of the page, I have made a painting of devi ji for navratri. It has somehow become a ritual for me to paint something related to the festival being celebrated.

This month there are so many festivals!! The month started with Good Friday and Easter. And now Navratri, Gudi Padwa, Baishakhi, Bihu are being celebrated .Even holy month of Muslims,Ramadan or ramazan has also started where they will be fasting for a month and then will celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr.Today , people in Bengal are celebrating Poila Baishak, or Bengali New Year which is the first day of the bengali calendar which originated in ancient India.Phew!!!! So many new years, isn't it friends? In India we can celebrate New Years throughout the year 😉😉.Then on 21st we will be celebrating lord Ram's birthday as Ram Navmi.

Pandemic or no pandemic we Indians celebrate all festivals whole heartedly.🙂🙂

You know friends though we are rejoicing and celebrating yet something seems amiss. Sometimes I feel so angry. Corona virus last year kept us locked  in our houses but this year started on a good note. I had started playing with my friends but now again meeting with friends has stopped and I am feeling sad☹️

On 26th of January a Republic Day party was held in our society but now everything has stopped again. Our holi celebration was scrapped off and I felt so so bad. Well friends, what to do, we have, also, to take care of ourselves.

So friends you should also take care of yourselves and of your loved ones as the 2nd wave of Covid is spreading faster so stay safe and Happy Navratri...

#stay home # stay safe

P.S. Friends ,I feel immense pleasure to inform you all that I have completed one year of writing my blog. I started this journey of writing on 20 March 2020 and it's been a year since then. Har Har Mahadev 🙏🙏

Hello friends..how are you? hope you are good and doing well..oh My god ..I forgot to wish you all Maha Shivratri. So here's wishing you all a very happy Mahashivratri.May lord Shiva bless us all 🙂Hope you might have completed your Mahashivratri puja as you read this.So how many of you are fasting today?

Friends ,you know I am reading a book these days-The Man From The Egg -Unusual Tales About The Trinity by Sudha Murthy. It's an excellent book telling us all about holy trinity -Brahma,Vishnu and Shiva. There are many tales related to these deities in this book.It was through  this book  that I came to know about significance of "Mahashivratri",as to why we celebrate it.Infact I got to know a lot about Indian mythology from this book ,so much that when my mom asked me a few questions, thinking that I might not know the answer, and when I correctly gave the answer she was surprised and praised me 🙂and again started telling me about importance of reading.

So well friends let me tell you what I read in the book regarding celebration of Mahashivratri. Why do we celebrate Mahashivratri ?Well as the legend goes, it was on this day that Lord Shiva got married to daughter of Parvatraj,Himalaya. Her name was Parvati. On this day people go to temple and offer Bel Patra to lord Shiva and perform Rudra Abhishek.

Okay friends so that's it for this blog.Happy Fasting and happy Mahashivratri.Enjoy your day with loved ones.

Bye Bye 👋👋 Until my next blog🙂

Happy Makar Sankranti

Hello friends , A Very Very Happy New Year to all of you!! Finally!! 2021 is here. Well,I hope that this year brings lots of joy and happiness in our lives.Last year which was 2020 locked us down in our homes away from all fun and enjoyment because of deadly corona virus spread all over the world.Friends, this year started on an excellent note with finally vaccine for this virus making it's way in the world. Now we can expect to get rid of this pandemic for good.

Change is already making it's way into our lives with people getting together for little celebrations like Christmas,New Year's and Lohri. Things are once again getting back to normal. Let's hope this year brings more opportunities for joy and happiness for the entire world. As they say "All world is one big family"वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम".So all members of family, the entire world should remain healthy and cheerful.

Friends, today is makar sankranti or uttarayan which is a festival dedicated to Sun.It marks the first day of the sun's transit into Makar rashi (Capricorn). From this day onward,it is believed days start getting longer. In my house we do a small puja and relish laddus made with sesame(til ke laddu)This festival is also celebrated as Bihu in Assam and Pongal in Tamil Nadu .

Friends, I didn't make a drawing for this occasion , however I am sharing picture of my Christmas tree instead that I decorated for Christmas (every year I put up my Christmas tree before Christmas and wrap it up after makar sankranti in order to enjoy Christmas,New Year,Lohri and Makar Sankranti)

So friends signing off this blog with a popular Marathi phrase"तिल गुड़ घ्य ,गोड गोड़ बोला"which means eat sweets made with sesame and jaggery and speak sweet or leave all the quarrels and grudges from the past behind and start afresh and anew , embracing forgiveness.

               Happy Makar Sankranti

FESTIVE MODE ON🙂

Hello friends ....So how was your Diwali celebration?Hope you all enjoyed as much as I did.Ofcourse there were a few restrictions due to COVID-19 pandemic ,still nothing could dampen our spirits and we clebrated Diwali with great zeal and enthusiasm.I gorged on papdis, dewaleys and a lot of sweets during Diwali😜.This Diwali, crackers were banned in Ghaziabad so I only played with some squibs alongwith my friends.I also enjoyed making  Rangoli  ,which I do every year on Diwali.

Friends,as you know, any occasion for me is incomplete without painting something related to that particular occasion. So for this occasion too I painted a diya on canvas. You can see the painting at the top of the blog. This is how I celebrated quiet and peaceful Diwai with my family.

Now my Diwali break is over and my classes have also started. However, some people are on leave to celebrate Chhath puja after Diwali.People, especially those living in Bihar,Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh celebrate Chhath puja.I am sure most of you must be knowing what chhath puja is but those who don't ,  let me tell you about it.....chhath
puja is dedicated to the solar deity Suraya and Shashti Devi chhathi maiya in order to thank them for bestowing the bounties of life on earth and to request the granting of certain wishes . Chhath puja is celebrated on sixth day after Diwali .It is a four day long festival including fasting for almost 36 hours. In a way it is extended Diwali celebration for some.

India is a culturally diverse country. Here people belonging to different religion and faith live together and celebrate each other's festivals with great love and joy. This is a beautiful example of unity in diversity.

So here's wishing HAPPY CHHATH to those who celebrate and also to those who don't.

Until my next blog bye bye

बंदे में था दम , वंदे मातरम!!

Hi friends🖐️Wass up?? How are you all ?? Happy Gandhi Jayanti to all of you.Friends, you all must be knowing that today is 2 of October and this day is celebrated  as Gandhi jayanti because on this day Mahatma Gandhi ji was born in Porbandar , Gujrat in 1869.This day is also known as non violence  day because Mahatma Gandhi was a great advocater of non violence. There were many leaders who fought for freedom of our nation. One of them was Gandhiji. He also started swadeshi andolan which called for use of everything Indian. He could do anything  for his nation. He lived for his beloved nation and died for it.He drove British out of this country through non violent means. Therefore, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose called him the father of the nation.

Every year on 2nd October , our Prime Minister  and President  hold a prayer meeting  at Rajghat New Delhi.Every one remembers Gandhiji  on this day, which is celebrated as a national  holiday  in India. Mahatma Gandhi loved to wear khadi clothes. He is also known as bapu. His full name was MOHAN DAS KARMCHAND GANDHI .

We should  remember him not only today,  on his birth anniversary but throughout the year, keeping in mind his ideals of peace and non violence.

Friends, today is the birth anniversary of another very prominent leader and freedom fighter of India ,Shri Lal Bhadur Shastri ,who was also the second Prime Minister of India.Let's take a few moments to bow down to this humble personality too.
